How does the OHIP Card Scan feature work?

We've recently added a way for our users to scan any OHIP card to add patients into the system before adding claims. This has the added benefit of making billing simple after the patient's health card information isn't easily available.

  • Step 1 - Click on the button "Scan OHIP Card" or press F8 from your account.

  • Step 3 - If the patient is already in the system, please verify the information. If the patient is new to CabMD, you'll be asked to fill in the required information. When finished, click the "Next" button.

  • Step 4 - You've now completed the adding of a patient by using the OHIP Card Scan feature! You can now add claims for this patient without requiring the additional patient details. Click the "Close" button to close the wizard and resume normal use of CabMD.

You can also add patient through card scanning or manual entry directly on any of the "Add Claim" pages by right clicking the "Health Number" label and following the instructions. When completed, the patient will be selected and you can continue billing.
